Durability That Handles Real Weather
Loved by more than 130,000 customers worldwide and now available in New Zealand, our premium Firefly Lights were built to survive the harsh Australian climate, so they shrug off a Kiwi winter without a second thought. Heavy rain, freezing cold nights and grey, overcast days won't slow them down. They still charge through the shorter winter days and flicker to life the moment it gets dark, scattering that warm firefly glow across the garden to lift even the coldest evening. And when summer rolls around, they'll handle the heat with ease. Built to last all year round.
Solar Technology That Costs Nothing to Run
Unlike electric string lights, SolaGarden Firefly Lights cost zero dollars to operate. No electricity bills, no power cords, no installation fees.
Perfect for renters and homeowners who want flexible outdoor lighting. With our proprietary solar technology, these lights charge faster and deliver consistent warm light all evening. Easy to move, easy to install, no tools required.

Are all your lights weatherproof?
Yes, every light we sell is either IP44 or IP65 weather resistant, meaning rain, hail or shine, they'll be shining bright every day.
If your lights ever stop working, just remember they are backed by our lifetime replacement guarantee. Simply reach out to our support team here if you ever have any issues with your lights.
Where can I use the lights?
Anywhere that gets sunlight during the day. Your backyard, front yard, driveway, veggie patch or any outdoor paths around your home. As long as the solar panel for the lights gets sun during the day, they'll turn on automatically at night.
Why are all your lights solar powered?
We believe strongly in the power of renewable energy, and reducing our impact on the world. Every product we sell is powered by the sun's rays to help you reduce your monthly power bill and help reduce the amount of electricity you use from non-renewable sources.
Plus, every delivery is carbon neutral and we support various organisations helping to combat rapid climate change. You can read more about them here.
What happens if the lights stop working?
All SolaGarden lights have a lifetime replacement warranty. If they stop working, just send us an email and we'll replace them free of charge.
What are your best selling lights?
The Festoon lights have been our best sellers for years now. They are brighter and more durable than any other solar festoon lights on the market and our customers love them.
What makes The Firefly Lights different from other solar garden lights?
They really are something special. The Firefly Lights sit on soft, flexible wires, which means they sway and "dance" beautifully when the wind blows. It's a unique effect you won't find with your standard garden lights. We'd recommend checking out the video on this page, because the photos honestly don't do them justice.
What colour are the lights?
These come in a lovely warm white, which gives off a soft, cosy glow that's perfect for setting the mood in your courtyard, garden or balcony. Please note we only offer the warm white option for this product.
Do I need any tools or wiring to set them up?
Not a thing. There are no cables or plugs needed at all. You simply place the solar lights in your garden, flick the switch on, and you're good to go. It only takes a few seconds, making them one of the easiest ways to add a bit of magic to your outdoor space.
How long do they stay lit, and how do they charge?
The Firefly Lights are solar powered and charge up in 4 to 6 hours of sunlight, then run for around 8 to 10 hours at night. They also have a built-in light sensor, so they switch on automatically at night and off during the day. Keep in mind that things like the weather, season and how much sun they get will affect charging and run time, which is completely normal. For best results, position them in a sunny spot facing south and out of any shade.
Can I leave them out in the rain?
Yes, you can. With an IP65 waterproof rating and high-quality copper wires, the Firefly Lights are built to withstand rain, snow and sun. Just keep in mind the waterproofing is designed for rain and moisture only, so they shouldn't be soaked or left sitting in water for long periods.
